I'll Bet You...
So even though I'm using poker chips the only bet here is that this is a different and fun way to "randomly" practice your forms.
The chips in the picture are labeled with the four sets of "traditional" forms that we learn as under black ranks.
The ITF Patterns/Tuls are on the black poker chips. You are seeing the front of each chip in this picture - which has the name of the form on it. The backs are simply labeled ITF 1 for Chon-Ji and ITF 2 for Dan-Gun and so forth.
The WTF Tae Geuk Forms/Poomse/Jangs are on the blue chips. The backs of these are labeled TG 1, TG 2, and so on.
The older WTF Pal Gwe Forms/Poomse/Jangs are on the white chips, with the backs having labels of PG 1, PG 2, and well... you get the idea.
The last set of chips, the red set, have the Moo Duk Kwan Basic(Kee Cho) and Pyung An Forms/Hyungs on them - with their backs being labeled Basic 1, Basic 2, Basic 3, PA 1, PA 2, PA 3, PA 4, and PA 5.
What I like to do is take one or more of these sets of forms and put them in a bag and draw them out. Too many times I get stuck doing them "in order" and this mixes that up.
Plus you can pull out one at a time, or you can pull out a string of two or three or more and do them one right into the next in the order that you drew them...
Give the bag with a specific set of chips that you put in - either by rank or by system - to a group of three or four of your students and let them take turns drawing out the form for the group to do...
There are lots of options, but "I bet" you'll be surprised at how many ways you can use this, how fun it is, and how challenging this can be.
Respectfully,
Kathy Wiz
