Listening to digital books - Audible.com - kept me awake and made the 6+ hour drive bearable, even though driving at night, in the fog, is not my favorite.
Oh, and trust your instincts. When your multiple electronic direction devices tell you that you have arrived at the hotel, but there isn't even a building in sight... You are not in the correct location.
And when you call the hotel only to find out that the new night staff person just moved down from Minnesota and has no idea how to give you directions... Do like ET and call home!

All the weirdness of the day with all the technicalities that popped up (flat tire, dead mouse killed by our mighty hunter cat Oscar, difficulties at the car rental place, weird directions that didn't bring me to the hotel, the heavy fog all the way from Memphis to here, the computers going down as I walked in the hotel lobby, and the police showing up at the same time in response to a 911 call from the hotel...) that was all just to get any complications out of the way.
It's going to be an amazing weekend!
